Compass Manager

This activity allows you to create a new compass profile or edit an existing one. The compass control that is displayed is in demonstration mode and should only be used to confirm your compass profile settings. It is not recommended to use it to navigate your surroundings.

Controls

  1. Toggle Window – Shows or hides the settings control revealing the demo compass unobscured.
  2. Test Resolution Settings – Forces the application to reload the selected compass face and compass needle with the defined resolution parameters.
  3. Save – Stores the current compass profile within the application’s database for your future reference. Screenshot showing compass editor menu expanded.
  4. Title – Allows you to define an annotation that can be used to search or order the compass profiles within the Compass Manager.
  5. Description – Allows you to define a more descriptive note about the compass profile. This can be used for searching or ordering of the compass profiles within the Compass Manager.
  6. Compass Image and Resolution – Allows you to change the compass face or compass needle and to increase or decrease the number of pixels used to represent the image. Lower numbers could increase performance and reduce memory consumption.
  7. Compass face – Select this control to alter settings which relate to the compass face.
  8. Compass needle – Select this control to alter settings which relate to the compass needle. Screenshot showing compass editor controls.
  9. Load an external image for selected compass attribute – Check this box if you prefer to use an image of your own for the selected compass attribute. Screenshot showing compass editor controls.
    • a. Displays an array of default compass images for you to choose from based on which attribute you selected (You must have control 11 unchecked for this to be available).
    • b. When pressed launches a file browser for you to locate an image to be referenced as the selected compass attribute (You must have control 11 checked for this to be available).
    • c. Clears the selected referenced image for the selected compass attribute (You must have control 11 checked for this to be available).
  10. Allows you to set a target resolution for the image selected attribute to be scaled toward. Note that the aspect ratio of the image is always maintained regardless of the parameters submitted. Lower numbers will improve compass image load times and save resources at the cost of image detail. Screenshot showing compass editor controls.
  11. Changes the size of the compass needle.
  12. Changes the size of the compass face.
  13. Changes the transparency of the compass face.
  14. Changes the transparency of the compass needle.
